Three websites your website developer Does not want you to visit.

Websites, when developed, are visually good-looking. However, Google is looking at the website from a perspective you can’t see. The latest Google algorithm change has significantly affected where your website appears in the search results.

The three websites below give you an idea of how Google looks at your website. The three key aspects are a mobile-friendly website, how fast your website loads in a browser, and whether the website’s code is correct.

All you have to do is enter your website address (URL) or a specific page and see what the report says.

Website 1: https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly
Google now expects all websites to be mobile responsive (mobile friendly).

Once you enter your URL in the “Enter a URL to test” box, the result will l say your website is either Mobile friendly
or not. If it is not, you will need some help to make it mobile-responsive.

Website 2: https://gtmetrix.com/
Google is now checking to see how fast your website loads in a browser. The quicker it loads, Google will look more
favourable on your website.

Enter your URL in the box which says, “Enter your URL to Analyse.”

This website gives you a graded score of A being the best and F being the worst. The aim is to get an A, but a B is ok.

Google is looking for easy to navigate coding on the page.

Enter your URL in the box and click the orange “start” box.

The first thing you will notice is a score out of 100.

It would be best to get this score higher than 80%, which means the webpage is optimised very well. Anything below
this means that you need to make improvements. A score below 30, you urgently need to get the webpage sorted
Urgently.

The next box down the page is “Issues to fix.”

The box shows the issues that need to be fixed in the list. The first is “High”. These items need to be addressed first.

The following section listed is “Medium”. These items could be fixed but are less urgent.

The last section is “Low”. These items are relatively low values SEO effect. You may not do much about them as they
are caused by the website’s theme and may not be fixed.

The rest of the page details the errors and fixes needed. You will need to upgrade from the free version to see the
fixes required. However, if you do the ones already listed, you are well on the way to getting your website to rank
well on Google.
